The best unexpected Christmas activity this week had to be the fountain show at the National Harbor. After a bumpy start (spousal miscommunication, first-born disappointment that the light show wasn't happening, parking issues, etc.), the night was redeemed by a 5 minute, flashy fountain show.
The kids had obviously never seen anything like this before 'cause they went absolutely BESERK.
There was dancing and screaming and jumping and more screaming and even some maniacal laughter. And they got completely soaked. They even gave each other a dramatic hug just as the music crescendoed. It was hilarious.
After it was all over, Leah kept shouting over and over again with thumbs up in the air, "That was AWESOME!"
I figured that the other people watching probably thought we keep our children locked up in a closet to get that kind of reaction from a fountain show. But at least 3 different people said that Leah and John was their favorite part! One said, "That was pure joy! Pure joy!"
We are definitely going back.
