Long Time, No Post

Here are some random shots of life in SB

Baseball is still a daily reality and Noelle has become a full fledged Tomboy.  She resists having her hair brushed, wearing dresses to church, and anything that isn't her "baseball uniform," ripped up jeans, and "bike shoes."

A big rain brought us a neighborhood mud puddle and John helped Noelle put a body board and tree branch-paddle to good use.

Luke joined me in the anticlimactic age of 37 with a family taco bar dinner.

Leah has been taking ukelele lessons and her siblings like to play as well.

They entertained themselves for a surprising amount of time with a homemade game of "pajama head-to-toe."

We hang out with cousin Lily about once a week and these two are quite a pair.  My most recent favorite dialogue occurred while the girls were riding in the car together:

Noelle:  (whining)  "Mommy, Lily is wooking (looking) at me."
Lily:  (making great effort to annoy Noelle by continuing to look at her)
Noelle:  "Mommy, Lily is still wooking at me!"
Me:  "Noelle, Lily is allowed to look at you.  But I bet if you don't allow yourself to be bothered by it, she will eventually stop looking at you."
Lily:  (in all seriousness)  "Noelle, when I am done wooking at you, I will stop wooking at you."

Leah has been asking us to cut her some long, slanted bangs for quite some time, so here they are:

And though you can't tell by this picture, she looks about 3 years older!

This is what happens when you finally commit to waking up BEFORE the kids to have time with the Lord:  they will sense you are up with their amazing kid senses (that somehow don't seem to work on basic things like personal space, loudness awareness, or feeling food stuck to your face) and wake up (even though they hate waking up this early) and come and sit on top of you and ask you questions.

Despite missing the DC museums, there are some great places to visit and learn out here including the Maritime Museum where you can dress up like a sailor (with a pirate hat).

Love my fam!
