Go Dodgers!

No matter what side of the country we are on, when the Dodgers play the Nationals, you can bet we'll be there.

Especially this kid, who eagerly got himself in the car minutes before anyone else. (You must understand that this is not usually his way...)

Grandy and Papa Len are long time Dodger fans and were excited to be watching a game with us on the west coast.

Fortunately, there was a hat giveaway, but Leah decided to shun the gifted cap for her Nationals one. There was a wee bit of rivalry during the game.

In a continued effort to be like the big kids, Noelle wore her hat throughout the game. I don't think she could see much, but sometimes you gotta sacrifice...

Uncle Jeff and Fiance' Ebony joined us as well - so nice to be near family again!

We celebrated his birthday...

And tasted the famed "Dodger Dogs."
(I won't bother you with my review except to say that they had a bit of an orange tint to them.)

It was a good time had by all, especially the Dodger fans.

(The tooth fairy just said she will pay a handsome price to anyone who can get that snaggletooth out of Leah's noggen.)

Dear Friends

We've been reconnecting with old friends since we've been out here and we're thrilled to be living near (read: "within 2 hours of") the Carey family. You may recognize that this is one of the families we lived with during our first attempt at community living in DC. We have reminisced over our 3 years of good times and hard times and are so grateful to continue our friendships and watch the kids connect with each other again.

The boys share a love for all things baseball and Leah and Gavin have a special connection being born into our community house for the first year of their lives.

Seth and Noelle never actually lived together but he is clearly smitten.

Gavin didn't want the kids to go, but we assured him that, thanks to many a long drive on the SoCal freeways, we will see them much more often than once or twice a year.

We love you Seth, Teresa, Gavin and Daylen!
In the words of the Muppets:

"Together again. Gee, it's good to be together again!
We just can't imagine that you've ever been gone. It's not starting over, it's just going on!
Together again. Now we're here and there's no need remembering when.
'Cause no feeling feels like that feeling: Together again."

We've had some great beach days since we've been in sunny SoCal. Here are some pictures of a day at Huntington Beach.

Lovin' us some Southern California weather!!!

Last Days in DC

It is overwhelming to try to summarize our last days in DC.

We connected with so many friends before we left and yet didn't get to say proper goodbyes to some. The kids had play dates galore, Luke had quite a few "sports dates," and I enjoyed some sweet times with good food and great friends. We also had a wonderful church-hosted farewell party, and received a number of heartfelt cards and thoughtful gifts. There are no words that can describe what a sweet time this was, so I'll let the pictures tell the story...

There were also a number of moments that never got documented with a photo, namely eight sweet friends who helped us pack up a good bit of our house and those who took on our kids so that we could do more of the same.

You know who you are and you know you are loved. Thank you all so much for everything.

We'll miss you all too.

Until we meet again, friends.
