Christmas glimpses

Here's our Christmas at a glance...

We saw Christmas Lights at the National Zoo with Grandy and Poppa Len.  (Excuse the picture - me and our old camera are a bad combo.)

The kids ran around the fresh snow at the beautiful Arboretum.

We brought back the Shepherd's Meal on Christmas Eve with a new vigor.  Luke made beef jerky, Grandy and Poppa Len joined us (and wanted to know what shepherds ate for dessert), and...

...the youngest Sunukjian shepherdess showed up for this one!

On Christmas day, we went to Sibley hospital to hand out cards the kids made and sing Christmas carols to those who were there.  

Next, we opened gifts and the kids loved their In-n-Out burger t-shirts from G & PL.

And their Fortamajig from Grannie Stannie and Papa Billy.  Uncle Jeff and Ebony were very generous as well.  In fact, Luke has enjoyed the remote control cars that they sent (for the kids).

Two days later, on her 8 month birthday, Noelle was dedicated at church.  It was a sweet service.  Pastor Stuart prayed out of Hosea 14:8 that God would be her evergreen (from her middle name Geneva which means 'Juniper.')

We have been excited to have Heather, Jason and cousin Lily join us.  She's a character already!  The kids have had a great time and we look forward to building more memories together.  

The highlight for the kids was spending the night with Grandy and Poppa Len in their hotel.  They packed their suitcases and wheeled them in like they owned the place.  They met the Temple football players who were staying there, jumped on the beds, and ate the Haagen Daas ice cream sent up by the receptionists who thought they were so cute.  And while they were having the times of their short little lives, Luke and I got to watch a movie!  in the theatre!  Thank you, Grandy and Poppa Len!

And we resumed our New Year's Eve hotdog and marshmellow roasting.  Auntie Heather upped the ante by making homemade mac and cheese.  Me gusta comfort food!

Other events not pictured include but are not limited to:  the Feast of Holy Innocence collages and simple meal, a mellow Dip Day, and an Epiphany celebration complete with gluten-free gingerbread cake shaped like a star!  And we're still gonna get a Chalking the Door ceremony in before January ends...  Thanks to Carrie Paschall for the great idea!
