Our New SUV

Yes, this moderately large family officially went and got ourselves a Super 'Uge Vehicle.

We decided it may be time to get a bigger car, after having to borrow friends' minivans to get ourselves (and driver) to the airport and back.  We also haven't been able to drive with the grandparents since John was born and we'll be carpooling with a neighbor to Leah's school next year.  (I'm just saying all that out loud to keep myself from feeling too guilty about owning a gas-guzzling beast.  On the upside, we only own one vehicle and as we live in a walkable community and Luke bikes to work a lot, we use it infrequently.)

I'm usually the researcher in the family, but since my detailed knowledge of (or care about) automobiles doesn't go much beyond color, Luke was happy to take the lead.  And as most of your are unsurprised to know, Luke just couldn't in (his) good conscience get a minivan.

We were specifically looking for an 8 passenger since we're pretty sure we want to have one more little cherub (God willing and in the near distant future) and still have the ability to carpool to the max.  After much internet searching and Kelly blue book reading, Luke went with a 2006 Honda Pilot.  We got a great, hassle-free trade in value for our CRV and with our old racks on top, Luke is thrilled with our stylin' new wheels.

Check her out:

hmm. we'll have to look into this. We also want to upgrade to an 8-passenger before too long--for all the same reasons as you and Eric is interested in some towing capacity. We also need to maximize cargo room for the wheelchair. Happy driving!
